Square Mile Heritage Analysis
The Square Mile in downtown Montréal was the historic home of the City’s Anglo Protestant elite during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Once, a suburban haven at the foot of Mont Royal, today the area is an eclectic of historic mansions, modern high-rise development, and McGill University. Presented to the Canadian Centre for Architecture, members of the Re: public undertook a demonstration heritage analysis of the area which focused on the heritage of the public realm and provided recommendations for its preservation and renewal.
